About Isabella
Isabella Van Hoye
A qualified psychotherapist since 1994, I am passionate about helping people realise their potential to live a more fulfilling life, by working together to bring clarity, understanding and integration to the issues they may be struggling with.
I enjoy working with people and respect the courage it takes to come along and be willing to look at where you are at and what it will take to bring about change.
My background
I was born and grew up in New Zealand and later travelled overseas where I trained and qualified in Body Psychotherapy in France. Since my return to New Zealand in 1995, I continued to broaden and further my professional development in a variety of approaches; psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic trauma therapy, infant observation and sand play therapy so as to enhance my work with a wide range of clients and their needs. I have co-facilitated group body psychotherapy training programs in Paris and in New Zealand. I also facilitated women’s groups for refugee women and a support group for new mothers.
I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and am a Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor. The main therapeutic framework I use is attachment based, humanistic and relational.
I work in private practice with individual clients and couples of varied backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities and experiences.
I am bilingual in English and French and practice therapy in both these languages. I also offer therapy online via zoom when needed.
I practice according to the Code of Ethics of the Association of Psychotherapists Aotearoa New Zealand and attend regular professional supervision and professional development.
